Area Manager Gredes DeCosta Promoted to Director of Operations within the Life Science Division

Gredes DeCosta came to Janitronics with over 30 years of experience, 20 of which were in GMP cleaning. She first joined Janitronics as a part-time employee while also working another full-time job. Thanks to the gentle encouragement of a full-time Janitronics employee and the encouragement of her son, after two years working both jobs, she decided to make the leap to full-time at Janitronics.

Gredes explains that she ultimately decided to make the change because she saw opportunities for career advancement and professional development. Six and a half years later, she has no regrets about her career change to Janitronics.

Now, she is thrilled to take the next step from Area Manager to Director of Operations in the life sciences division. The new role will involve more client interaction and operations, shifting focus from direct employee management. While she will miss the daily interactions with employees, she’s not worried because she will remain available to them.

That’s one of the key reasons Gredes has thrived in her role at Janitronics–the connection with employees and management. She immediately felt welcomed and part of the team when she joined, even calling her onboarding process “the superstar treatment.” She credits Connie Correia, another member of the life science division, as a great support system.

At the same time, Gredes is passionate about mentoring and encouraging her own employees. The result of her mentorship speaks for itself–the individual taking over her role has been a key partner for her across multiple buildings.

She advises fellow employees to “keep doing what you’re doing” and to look for opportunities for future growth. That driven, forward-thinking mentality is exactly what got her to where she is today. With her son cheering her on from the side, Gredes is excited for this next step in her career.
