Competing for a Cause: The Kendall Square Challenge
This June, Janitronics Building Services joined organizations from across Cambridge for this year’s Kendall Square Challenge. Hosted by the Kendall Square Association, the Challenge brings people from across industries together for friendly competition and fundraising that supports local nonprofits.
This was our first year as an event sponsor with a team ready to compete for the Kendall Cup. We were one of more than 60 teams, representing leaders in tech, life sciences, biotech, and pharma. Our team worked its way across Kendall Square, taking on team-based challenges, problem-solving activities, and service-focused missions against the clock. Beyond the competition, the day gave our team a chance to collaborate, strategize, and connect with colleagues.
At its heart, the Kendall Square Challenge is about giving back. Each team chose a local nonprofit to compete for, and we were glad to support Science Club for Girls. Based in Cambridge and serving communities across Greater Boston, Science Club for Girls runs free, hands-on STEM programs and mentorship for young people, helping inspire the next generation of innovators and leaders.
Supporting the Greater Boston community has always been part of who we are at Janitronics. Events like the Kendall Square Challenge are a chance to give back to the people that make this community what it is.
We are grateful to the Kendall Square Association for putting together an event that brings the Cambridge innovation community closer while supporting several outstanding nonprofits. Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and helped make this year’s Challenge a success. We are already looking forward to next year’s Challenge.
